Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 1, 2026

Ventura Nomadica ("we," "us") respects your privacy. We are based in the United States, and we apply GDPR-style privacy principles (data minimization, transparency, and user rights) to everyone who uses our app or website.

The App

TrekCrumbs is built privacy-first by design. All trip data you create in the app (flights, hotels, activities, notes, and attachments) is stored entirely on your device. We never receive, transmit, or have access to your travel data. No account is required to use the app.

What We Collect

Information you provide

  • If you email us or use the contact form, we receive your email address, name, and message contents.

Privacy-friendly analytics (trekcrumbs.app website only)

We use self-hosted Umami analytics to understand general traffic and improve the site. It is configured to be privacy-friendly:

  • No cookies
  • No cross-site tracking
  • No personal profiles
  • Analytics used in aggregate only, not to identify individuals

Typical analytics includes pages viewed, referrers, device type, and general region (country).

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not use advertising trackers or retargeting pixels.
  • We do not create marketing profiles of individual visitors.
  • We do not collect, store, or transmit any travel data you create in the TrekCrumbs app.

Why We Process Information

  • To respond to messages you send us
  • To operate, secure, and improve the website
  • To prevent abuse and maintain reliability

Legal Bases (GDPR/UK GDPR)

Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on:

  • Consent: when you choose to contact us
  • Legitimate interests: running a small website securely and improving it, while minimizing data collection

  • Emails and inquiries: kept as long as needed to respond and maintain reasonable records, then deleted or archived.
  • Analytics: retained to understand trends and improve the site.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, or object to certain processing.
