TrekCrumbs is privacy‑first. We do not run ads or use advertising cookies. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to operate this website and understand overall usage.

What We Collect

• Beta sign‑ups: If you submit your email address, we store it securely and use it only to contact you about the TrekCrumbs beta. We never sell or share your email.
• Basic analytics: We may use Plausible Analytics, a privacy‑friendly, cookie‑free analytics service, to measure aggregate traffic and page performance. See “Analytics (Plausible)” below for details.

Storage & Preferences

This site uses localStorage to remember your theme (light/dark) and accent color preferences, and to store your privacy/consent choice for embedded video. This information stays in your browser; it is not sent to TrekCrumbs or to third parties.

Analytics (Plausible)

When enabled, we use Plausible Analytics to understand high‑level usage (for example, page views, referrers, and popular pages). Plausible is designed for privacy:

• No cookies and no cross‑site tracking.
• No personal data; IP addresses are not stored in a way that identifies you.
• Data is processed in the EU by Plausible’s infrastructure.
• We view only aggregated statistics; we cannot identify individual visitors.

In addition to basic page views, we have enabled measurement of outbound link clicks (for example, TestFlight or Play Store beta join links) and file downloads (if we publish downloadable resources). These events are collected in the same aggregate, cookie‑free, privacy‑respecting manner as other Plausible data.

Analytics helps us keep the site fast and useful without profiling or advertising. If you prefer, you may use a content blocker; the site works fully without analytics.

Video Embeds

Our demo video uses YouTube’s privacy‑enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and is blocked by default. If you choose to enable and play the video, YouTube may collect data in accordance with its own policies.

No Ads

We do not display advertising and do not share data with ad networks.

Your Rights

You may contact us at support@trekcrumbs.com to request deletion of your email from our beta list or to ask any questions about your data.
